Ryan Gardner

Ryan began his career at the age of six as a children’s wear model for Boscov’s Department Store in Reading, Pennsylvania. That only lasted for two runway shows until he realized that he wasn’t a model but an actor. Fast forward fifteen years, Ryan earned a BA in Theatre Arts and Music from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. After graduation it was on to Chicago to begin a career on the professional stage. In Chicago Ryan worked with numerous theatre companies including: Redmoon Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, About Face, Chicago Shakespeare, Drury Lane, and the Marriott Lincolnshire. Throughout his theatrical journey he has also acted in commercials, film and voice. Off the stage, Ryan continued his passion for stagecraft as a carpenter and welder in the theatrical, residential, and commercial settings. In 2008 he and his family moved to New Haven to begin two new adventures: one as a Master Scene Shop carpenter at the Yale Repertory Theatre and two as a founding ensemble member of A Broken Umbrella Theatre. Since 2008 Ryan has acted, technical directed, produced, and mined the rich history of New Haven with A Broken Umbrella.
