Matt Barcewicz grew up in Guilford, Connecticut, where he acquired his love of music and theater at New Haven's Neighborhood Music School and Guilford High School. An alumnus of Muhlenberg College, Matt double majored in Theater and Music; roles included Joe Hardy in Damn Yankees, Macheath in The Beggar’s Opera, Buck Armstrong in Charles Ludlam's Hot Ice, various student films and regional theater credits, and Musical Director of the college a cappella group The Dynamics. Following college, Matt moved to New York and pursued vocal arts and composition studies at the Evening Division of The Juilliard School, where he performed choral roles with Jason Robert Brown at Lincoln Center, Marvin Hamlisch and Liza Minnelli at Carnegie Hall, Kristen Chenoweth at the Met, and other original works. Upon returning to his home state of Connecticut, Matt joined ABUT in the role of Rob Fitzgerald in Scene Change at the Shubert Theater. Most recently he has toured on keyboards with Pete Francis of the independent rock band Dispatch. A Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers, Matt is a passionate wine professional, an avid skier, and is thrilled to be reunited with this terrific team of creative minds.
